Morrison’s Cafeteria will host a special anniversary event on Wednesday, March 11 to celebrate 100 years of service in its hometown of Mobile, Alabama. Known for its fresh, comfort food, the beloved restaurant originally opened in Mobile in 1920 and has been a gathering place for generations of families, businesses and civic organizations. Now owned by Piccadilly Restaurants, the current location at 3200 Springdale Plaza in Mobile’s Jackson Heights neighborhood is the only Morrison’s Cafeteria in operation today.
Morrison's 100th anniversary event will kick off at 10 a.m. with remarks from restaurant management and Piccadilly company officials. Long-time Morrison’s employees will be recognized, along with special guests associated with Morrison’s history. The event will also feature a giveaway and commemorative anniversary items for guests. The restaurant will open for its regular lunch service at 10:45 a.m.
“Morrison’s has a rich history in the Mobile area, and we are so proud to be part of this wonderful community,” says Piccadilly CEO Azam Malik. “This milestone is a testament to Morrison’s success and the love that multiple generations of guests have for Morrison’s. We’re thankful to have been a go-to favorite for so many guests over the past 100 years and look forward to many more years as we continue to grow our Morrison’s family.”
